Lately, I have been thinking about happiness. Specifically, I have been thinking about the fact that if I can remain within the present moment, if I can stay right here, right now, I am able to learn to be free of my anxieties. Ironically enough, it is here, that all my anxieties about the future and regrets about the past present themselves. It is here in this moment that my work to remain present must be carried out. I can’t do it tomorrow, I can’t congratulate myself for having done it yesterday, I can only do it now. It, the work, only exists, right here and right now!
The question I have for you, the question I have been asking myself, is a very simple one: are you willing to be here and now? Are you willing to do the work that is required of this very unique moment in order to find your presence, your peace, your freedom?
For as author Travis Bradberry writes in Entrepreneur, “It’s impossible to be happy if you’re constantly somewhere else, unable to fully embrace the reality (good or bad) of this very moment.” So can we be here now – whether we are at work, alone, with someone, or getting ready to take a seat on our mats? Can we notice and make room for whatever happens to be alive and present within this moment, and this moment, and this moment?
Can we be here now and accept all that this moment has to offer us?
